Abigail Albaugh, 27, is originally from Annapolis, MD. She has a Bachelors degree in Violin Performance from East Carolina University and a Masters degree in Violin Performance from the University of Michigan. Her journey with the violin has taken her to England, Iceland, Scotland, Austria, the Czech Republic, France, and Canada participating in various festivals and ensembles. Abigail has premiered new music and won numerous scholarships, awards, and concerto competitions including the Mary Ruth Hardy Violin Scholarship and the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. Through learning the Alexander Technique she has been able to overcome arthritis in her neck from playing the violin and is now also a certified Alexander Technique teacher as of April 2008. Her goal as a violin teacher is to make the enjoyable art of playing the violin as easy and efficient as possible. Abigail has been teaching the violin for nine years and has been living in Austin for a year and a half.
