Trevor BlackBachelor of Music, Guitar and CompositionTrevor is a teacher, composer, and performer transplanted to Austin by way of Virginia. While at Duquesne University, he studied composition with Dr. Patrick Burke and the Shearer Classical Guitar Method with Thomas Kikta, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Music degree with a focus in Technology and Composition.
Since graduating in 2013, Trevor has cherished a variety of musical experiences. He has produced albums by Boys and Girls Club members in Boston and worked in Hans Zimmer’s film music studios in Santa Monica. Trevor’s music has appeared in several video games, commercials, and an upcoming DreamWorks project. His compositions for guitar has been performed by his high school’s guitar ensemble, the nationally-touring NOW Ensemble, and was featured in a commission from USC’s Creativity in Music Award. When Trevor’s hands are not on a guitar, they are used for sipping coffee, eating bowls of fancy ramen, playing Magic the Gathering, or hugging his wife and dog. |
