under Melanie Karr Munro. Her musical career continued at The Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she explored music production and sound design, culminating in a B.S. in Music from the University of Colorado Denver. Specializing in piano performance, Cicely expanded her skills under the guidance of Peter John Stoltzman and Gregory T.S. Walker at UC Denver, gaining expertise in chamber music, composition techniques, commercial styles, and music theory. Cicely furthered her education with a master’s degree in music and human learning from The University of Texas at Austin under the mentorship of Dr. Robert Duke and Dr. Laurie Scott. During this time, Cicely refined her teaching approach, focusing her research on how music plays an integral role in holistic development. Passionate about fostering a solid musical foundation, Cicely creates a personalized learning experience that bridges new concepts with existing knowledge. Her lessons are infused with positivity and patience, tailored to meet each student’s unique learning style. Committed to nurturing creativity and imparting practical piano skills, she aims to inspire a lasting enthusiasm for music in her students. Beyond piano and teaching, Cicely enjoys sightseeing, taco tasting and a good live band. |
