Faculty:

Skye C. McManus teaches piano, voice, musicianship, and choir at the Orpheus Academy of Music, integrating the principles of the Kodaly methodology.  An Indiana native, she received a BME and Certificate in Piano Pedagogy from Indiana State University, a MM in voice performance at Loyola University New Orleans, a Texas Teacher’s License for EC-12th grade music, and Kodaly Certification at Texas State University. Before moving to Austin, she taught voice and piano lessons in San Antonio in the Judson and Northeast school districts for two years, as well as teaching elementary music. In addition to teaching at Orpheus, she teaches elementary music at The Magellan International School.

Dr. Scott Donald is on the piano faculty at Orpheus.  He also has a  background in dance and musical theater.  For 6 seasons, Dr. Donald  was a member of Austin Contemporary Ballet.  He has been guest artist  with Victoria Ballet Theater, Corpus Christi Ballet and Wichita Ballet  Theater.  He has appeared on stage at Zikler Hillside Theater, Hyde  Park Theater, the Paramount, and the former Live Oak Theater.  He also collaborates on movement/choreography for marching band and winterguard.

Becky Harding is a certified classroom speech and theatre educator with over twenty years of teaching, coaching and directing experience.  Her technique of teaching the physical and vocal elements of performance engages students in a lively and collaborative way.  The skills students learn for musical theatre performance easily carry over to strong communication tools in everyday situations.  She was Austin ISD’s Teacher of the Year in the year 2000.
