Xavier Garcia is a recent graduate from Texas State University and has received his master’s degree in music – viola performance. During his graduate studies he was awarded a seat in the university’s string quartet assistantship and in the past three years has taught group-classes and private lessons for the Texas State String Project, a community outreach program. He has also taught beginning violin classes for student’s grades 3-5 in Comal County and chamber music classes and viola coaching for the Texas State Strings camp.
Along with teaching, Xavier is also an active freelance performer in the central Texas area and has played with the Brazos Valley Symphony and Round Rock Symphony. He has an extensive performance background in chamber music and is eager to explore the educational benefits of introducing this type of musical experience to young students.
