Brendon GrabowskiMasters of Music, Classical Guitar PerformanceBrendon Grabowski is a classical guitarist, based in Austin, Texas. Currently a doctoral candidate completing his DMA at USC Thornton, Brendon served as a teaching assistant to Scott Tennant. His teachers include Adam Holzman, Lucinda Carver, Scott Tennant, Bill Kanengiser and Pepe Romero.
His awards include 1st Prize at Great Lakes Classical Guitar Competition - “Brouwer in Buffalo,” winning unanimously with Leo Brouwer on the panel, 1st Prize at the Pasadena Fine Arts Council, 2nd prize at Dallas International, and was a finalist in the Ex-Aequo Online International Competition, Memphis International Competition, and Appalachian Guitar Competition. Aside from teaching, doctoral work and building a solo career, he was a member of the USCGQ (University of Southern California Guitar Quartet,) which recently commissioned Joao Luis of the Brasil Guitar Duo to write for the quartet. With his DMA in progress at USC, Brendon holds degrees from the University of Texas at Austin (MM) and The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam (BM.) He is currently pursuing the Artist Diploma at the University of Texas at Austin. Brendon is a sponsored ambassador to Augustine Strings, and plays on Augustine Regal Blue strings and a 2012 Kenny Hill Signature series. |
