Wendy Kuo
Master of Music, Piano Performance and Pedagogy Director
Wendy began her study of piano at age four in her native Taiwan. She is a creative and experienced teacher whose students have consistently earned highest honors in festivals and competitions held by the National Guild of Musicians, Austin District Music Teacher’s Association and the National Federation of Music Club. Wendy graduated Pi Kappa Lambda with a Masters degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Houston in 1997. While at the University of Houston, Wendy was a scholarship student and served as a Teaching Assistant in the piano program and as a faculty member of Kingwood Music School and West University United Methodist Church Fine Arts Academy. Her commitment to teaching excellence has led her to attend numerous national piano pedagogy conferences and continue her performance and pedagogy studies with the Director of University of Texas Piano Pedagogy Program, Sophia Gilmson. From 1997 to 2001 she served on the piano faculty of the St. Stephens Episcopal School in Austin. Wendy is a sought after musician in the Austin area and performs frequently in a variety of venues including the Noontime Concerts at the Central Presbyterian Church, retirement communities and area churches.
