Michael Stone

US Military School of Music Graduate

Michael has been playing piano for over 30 years. He studied Piano performance and Jazz Studies at Texas State University.
Michael toured at length with the Texas State Jazz Orchestra, but also played in multiple contemporary music ensembles to include rock, pop, r&b, salsa, to name a few. He also served as the music director of the musical "Hello Dolly" with the New Braunfels Theatre.
Michael's playing and compositions were also featured on an album of the grammy award-winning saxophonist, Fabian Hernandez.
Michael was in the Army Band for 10 years, performing in multiple styles at locations throughout the US, Europe and the Middle East.
Michael's teaching involves a heavy emphasis on developing a fluency of expression. He believes that attaining a mastery of musical fundamentals also lends itself to a mastery of the fundamentals of effective communication in general, which has tremendous benefits to a person's life.
