Yujung UmDoctor of Musical Arts, Piano PerformancePianist Yujung Um, born in South Korea, is passionate about teaching, chamber music and collaborative arts. Yujung was awarded the first prize for the Sidney Wright Award for Excellence in Piano Accompanying while pursuing her doctorate degree in piano performance at The University of Texas at Austin. With this achievement, Yujung continued her studies in collaborative piano with Prof. Anne Epperson at Indiana University. Among her many experiences as a collaborative pianist, Yujung has been invited as a collaborative pianist to the renowned programs at Indiana University: String Academy and the College Audition Preparation Workshop for voice. She has been an official staff collaborative pianist at Truman State University where she has been coaching students and performing with faculties and guest artists.
Yujung has taught students of all levels from young beginners to adults in her private studio and she has also been engaged as a professor teaching non-music major students at Ulsan University, South Korea. She enjoys living in Austin and loves to go to the lake with lovely pets Banji and Churo. |
