Students of the Month - August 2019

With the prospect of a new teacher, a new grade, or even a new school, the end of summer is at once exciting and daunting. Which is why we're excited to honor our students of the month, who meet the challenges of back-to-school with enthusiasm and passion. Congratulations Katherine and Micah we hope that you're school year is full of music, and learning! 

Katherine is very excited to be nominated as student of the month! She looks forward to her singing lessons every week and has grown so much in her vocal ability since starting lessons with Ms. Chelsea. Thank you the nomination and amazing support she has received from the entire Orpheus team.

 It is a joy having Katherine in my studio! I especially enjoy the level of enthusiasm she brings to her lessons. She has such a bright, positive attitude, and is always eager to receive feedback and try out new ideas. She is also highly self-motivated, constantly setting performance goals for herself and bringing in new songs that she wants to work on.  She practices incredibly thoughtfully, really taking the notes from her lessons and fine-tuning them in her home practice which has allowed her to progress substantially from week to week. Thank you so much, Katherine, for sharing your voice with the Orpheus community!

Micah really enjoys studying piano at Orpheus with Ms. Jae-Eun because she is a great teacher! He especially enjoys performing at studio recitals for family and friends and creating his own compositions.

Micah is a very smart, talented, and creative little musician. He always practices hard and regularly, and always wants to learn more songs. Moreover, he likes so much to do improvisation and composition. He recently composed a Princeton Tiger song, which he was inspired by his visit to Princeton University with his family (the tiger is the mascot for Princeton University).He always has a specific idea or impression about the pieces he’s composing, and he titles each piece himself. In addition to the Princeton Tiger song, he has composed several other songs during the last semester.

He loves so much performing in public, and he’s always eager to play more songs in studio recitals. He showed a very solid, and artistic performance in the last Spring Studio Recital at UT Music School.

 I am very glad that I have this talented young musician in my studio, and I hope we can play and compose more music next semester.
