Students of the Month - June 2019

While we love summer at Orpheus because of new musical adventures in summer camps, and performance trips like  our concert at Carnegie Hall, many music teachers know that a lack of structure from school and long vacations can make consistent practice a challenge. That's why we're extra excited to honor those students who not only love music, but keep up the hard work during the long hot days of June. Way to go Eli, and Clara, keep up the good work! 

Eli is extremely delighted to be nominated for student of the month. He has been working hard on practice for lessons and performances. Eli thinks playing guitar is fun and challenging. Everyday that he practices, he gets better. He would like to thank Mr. Bruno and Mr. Doug for making learning fun.

Hi I’m Clara, and I’ve been doing Guitar for a bit over a year. I plan to keep doing it with Mr. Doug because he plays very fun games with me. Also, if I forget a note or a rhythm, he teaches me correctly and makes it stick so I can play it without the music even if I just learned it! I really like Orpheus, and Greek Mythology. I’m reading everything by Rick Riordan. My brother keeps telling me Greek myths so the books make sense. I really like Guitar so I encourage that if you don’t have an instrument, choose Guitar.

Congratulations to Clara for Student of the Month! Clara is a wonderful student and pleasure to work with. She practices every week consistently, and comes to each lesson eager to learn. Her technique and musicianship has developed speedily, and she aced her musical journey last semester. I am looking forward to her home concert and all of our future lessons!
